What is permanent make-up?
Permanent make-up is a procedure known by several names such as "micro pigmentation,"  derma graphics or Permanent Cosmetics.  The cosmetic implantation technique deposits colored pigment into the upper dermal layer of the skin.  This is done by using either a hand tool or a rotary machine.  It is the perfect procedure to enhance or improve what you already have without having to apply or reapply your brow pencil, eyeliner, or lip color.

Anyone can benefit from Permanent Make-up, from those who are active or tired of putting on make-up everyday to someone with special needs such as impaired vision, allergies to make-up, sensitive or oily skin.  People with Parkinson's disease, Alopecia, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke sufferers, and cancer survivors are also discovering how much easier it is to look good with Permanent Make-up.

Permanent make-up can enhance your life!  Wake up with make-up perfectly applied every day.  Save your time and money on cosmetics.  However, what really counts is what it is worth to you to feel and look terrific all day long.

Questions:

How long will the procedure take?
The typical permanent make-up procedure takes from 1 1/2 to 3 hours, of which only about 1-1/2 hours is actual tattooing.  Consultation, design work and time for the topical anesthetic to take effect account for the remainder of the time.  Most people require at least one touch-up procedure, which is typically performed approximately 30-45 days after the first procedure.

Does it hurt?
New topical anesthetics have been designed with permanent cosmetic procedures in mind.  Some people feel some discomfort and many feel just some pressure.  Procedures are performed with the most effective topical anesthetics providing substantial numbing of the area to minimize or eliminate any discomfort you may feel.  Most report feeling nervous or apprehensive at first, but once the procedure is started they realize that it is not nearly what they were afraid of.  Your comfort is a top priority.  There is never an additional charge to provide additional anesthetic.  Lips can be the most sensitive area, and most people report a bit more discomfort.

How many applications are needed?
Generally two applications are needed to achieve your desired look.  However, many clients are fully satisfied with just one application.  If a second application is needed, it is typically scheduled about 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure.

What can I expect immediately after the procedure?
Expect slight swelling and redness.  Usually the swelling subsides within 48 hours.  Initially your permanent make-up will appear darker and brighter than what it will ultimately heal to.  Sometimes, after the first night, you may have crusty eyes upon waking.  Remember that everyone is different, thus everyone's reaction is different; some people report absolutely no swelling, while other report some swelling.

What is the healing period like?
Most clients are able to return to work or their other daily activities immediately following their procedure without any embarrassment or discomfort. Superior strength topical anesthetics help prevent unsightly swelling and bleeding. For approximately 5-7 days following the procedure, you will need to apply a thin film of ointment to the procedure site. During this healing period, you will notice the color soften into your skin.

How long will my permanent make-up last?
Your permanent makeup should last for many years depending on your skin type and how well you care for it. Over time, the color will lighten and you may want to have the color refreshed. Permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because the color is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin.  However, as with any tattooing, fading can, and often does occur, requiring some color refreshing.

What can I do to protect my permanent make-up?
During exposure to sun, use a good sunscreen. I recommend an SPF of 30+ applied on the tattooed area.

 3. Active people who want to look their best for activities such as swimming, hiking, biking, tennis, aerobics, and those who do not want to worry about sweating off or reapplying cosmetics.

PRE CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Elizabeth's - Permanent Make-up and Eyelash Extensions

It is imperative that clients must be off Retin-A, Renova or similar products thirty days prior to all procedures and Accutane for one year prior to all procedures.

Do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to all procedures and avoid aspirin or similar products, niacin, vitamin E, caffeine and Gingko Biloba, or St. Johns's Wart unless medically necessary.  Non aspirin pain relievers are okay.

Anti-Viral medications - It is recommended if you ever (even years ago) had fever blisters, cold sores or shingles to obtain a prescription from the doctor or dentist to take before a procedure.  Fever blisters are a very common side effect of lip work.  If conditions require antibiotics before dental work, the same should be done for all permanent make-up work.

Bring eyeglasses.  Contacts should not be worn during or for 3-5 days after an eyeliner procedure.  After procedure you must use only clean or new contacts.

Only use new mascara, lipstick or any makeup that may come in contact with area after all procedures.  It is important to prevent secondary infection by being exposed to bacteria.

Have a ride home after an eyeliner procedure if client is light sensitive or if client chooses to self medicate (prescription strength pain relievers) prior to procedure (in case of swelling).  Clients may be more sensitive if they are premenstrual during a procedure.

Do Not book an appointment before any major events like vacation, social events or weddings.

Taking an over the counter antihistamine such as Benadryl or Claritin to help from tearing or taking ibuprofen just before your procedure may help reduce swelling if you do not have any adverse affects from doing so.

Do not have a sunburn prior to and after any procedures.  This includes tanning beds.

Do not get facial peels, laser or any skin resurfacing 30 days prior to procedure.  Tweezing and waxing should be done at least 2 days prior to the procedure.  Wait 2 weeks to resume waxing after the procedure.

EYELASH EXTENSIONS

3D Eyelash Extensions are the safest, most hygienic and customer-satisfying application method on the market.  3D-Lashes last up to 2 months, are weightless on your eyes, and resistant to water, showering, perspiration, exercise, tears, swimming and even sleeping.  3D-Lashes offers the highest-quality products.

3D-Lashes are newly invented eyelash extensions for longer, fuller, very natural looking eyelashes.  3D-Lashes are made to look identical to human lashes.  Using a State-of-the-art application technique, one lash at a time is applied onto the existing lash.  3D-Lashes simply transform your natural lashes into lush, beautiful, longer lashes.  3D-Lashes are weightless and you feel nothing on your lashes.  3D-Lashes are water-proof, you can shower, exercise and even sleep with them on!  3D-Lashes are a breakthrough lash technology with incredible staying power that will last up to 2 months.

3D-Lashes naturally darken your lashes, your lashes will look vivid and mascara is not necessary.  If desired, you may wear water based mascara on the tip of the 3D-Lashes for enhancement.  Never use waterproof mascara as any type of mascara remover may not be used at all.  Rubbing directly on the 3D-Lashes, or using mascara remover will weaken the bonding.  Water-based mascara should come off with just soap and water while washing your face or showering.

The lash life cycle is about 100 days, lashes may fall off due to the natural lash life cycle or negligent care of lashes.  It is highly recommended that you have a touch up application every 2-3 weeks after initial application.
