These are all of the enhancements/fixes to the Spa/Salon Manager for the year 1999.

12/31/99 The Extended Cost field on the Final Order Report was being cut off.  This has been fixed.
12/31/99 Added an On,Call name to the list of reserved words that show up when booking appointments.  On,Call works the exact same as Book,Me, in that it opens up time on the appointment book that an employee normally does not work.
12/31/99 Changed the Check In/Customer Display screen so that the Delete Customer button was not accessible on reserved names (Book,Me, On,Call, No,Appt, etc.).
12/31/99 Changed the Main Menu Bar to allow for different screen resolutions. Depending on the screen resolution the system will display choices from the left to the right edge instead of part way. This feature can be turned off on individual computers by creating the file NORES0 in the \Spasalon directory.
12/31/99 When clicking on the Customer Address button on the Customer Payment screen, the system used to allow you to change the Customer Name, which could cause some information to be saved incorrectly.  The system no longer allows the name to be changed at that point.
12/31/99 Moved the More Choices button back up to be on the same level with the Extra button in the Appointment Book.  Since more options were added to Extra section in the Appointment Book, More Choices was no longer an option for people with screen resolutions of 640x480. This does mean that people with this screen resolution will not have access to the new features Schedule Maintenance or Standing View unless they change their screen resolution to a higher setting, such as 800x600.
12/30/99 Added a Cancel Entire Day button to the Cancel Appointment screen.  This button is only visible if the customer is booked for other appointments on the same day, and allows you to automatically cancel all appointments that they are booked for on that day.
12/30/99 Changed the Post Order section of inventory ordering.  You may now change the amount that is being posted by clicking on the item.  This will automatically enter the amount that the order was short into the Back Order section, which also makes the item not show up to be ordered until the back order is filled, or the quantity on hand plus the back order is less than the minimum. 
12/30/99 Added an asterisk to the front of the Customer Name on the Employee Schedules and the Greeting Schedules to indicate a new customer.
12/30/99 Added the retail code to the Search Inventory screen when searching by inventory name.
12/30/99 Added a new feature to the main menu called Verify Monies.  This section allows you to verify the different types of transactions that have been run through (checks, Visa, Mastercard, etc.).  It gives a list of all of the transactions of the selected type allowing you to click on each transaction to show that it is correct and moves the transaction to the verified list.  The total of all of the transactions that have been verified are automatically shown on the Close Day screen.
12/28/99 Company names with an apostrophe in them cause a problem with any reports that show the company letterhead at the top.  The section that allows you to enter your company information for the letterhead no longer allows apostrophes to be entered in order to avoid program errors.
12/28/99 Fixed a problem where Mailing Lists and Labels for a specific employee showed customers that had seen employees that no longer worked for the salon.  This was only a problem if the old employees information was "stored" under the Employee Maintenance section.
12/23/99 Added the Appointment Comments to the Workticket.
12/23/99 Added a feature to the Workticket.  By turning on the mailing comment option under Maintenance -> Appointment Maintenance -> Workticket Settings, you can now show the customer's mailing comment on the Workticket.
12/23/99 Added a feature to the Workticket.  By setting the number of past services and retail in Maintenance -> Appointment Maintenance -> Workticket Settings, you can control how much customer history shows on the Workticket, and can even turn the history off altogether.
12/23/99 Changed the Appointment Intercom when sending a message the system shows a list of recipients.
12/23/99 Changed the Appointment Edit feature to only show the services that the employee performs. Previously the system showed all services which was confusing.
12/23/99 Added a new report to the Manager Reports -> Time Card Reports section.  The Detailed Time Card Report shows the time and reason that each selected employee clocked in and out.  Also, if anyone made any changes to the time card using the List/Fix Time Card, their name shows up beside the changes that they made.  Lastly, this report can be run for any range of dates.
12/22/99 Updated the system to correct an error in saving Gift Certificates to the customer's profile. If this problem occurred, click Utility, File Maintenance and Gift Certificate.
12/22/99 Took out debugging code that was accidentally left into the program which did not allow the system agent to complete normally.
12/22/99 Fixed a recurring problem in the appointment book where the employee name would be shown in a column with all other columns showing Services repeatedly.
12/22/99 Changed the Inventory Order report from portrait to landscape (sideways)  so that the product information for each item would fit on a single line.
12/21/99 Fixed a problem with Subtract Sale from a Previous Day under Correction.  When correcting a retail sale, the items being returned were not getting removed from the Customer Profile.  This now works correctly, and removes any matching items from the Customer Profile retail section.
12/21/99 Changed the Appointment Book so that when a customer is booked for multiple services under separate appointments each appointment shows separately instead of showing ditto marks for the customer name.
12/21/99 Fixed a problem where the Change Services button on the Edit Information screen pulled up the services that the customer was booked for from the first appointment with that designer on that day, rather than from the selected appointment.
12/21/99 Fixed a problem where the Edit Information screen accessed from the Appointment Detail screen showed all of the services for that customer on the selected day with the selected designer instead of just the services from the appointment that was clicked on.
12/21/99 Fixed a problem in which the comment shown for an appointment on the Appointment Detail screen showed the comment from the first appointment for that customer on that day, and not the appointment clicked on.
12/20/99 Added a new feature to the Appointment Book to allow viewing of Standing Appointments only.  This Standing View button shows the standing appointments on the book, and under the Services column, shows the services booked and how often (frequency) the standing is booked.
12/20/99 Changed the Appointment Book so that the Finish Time shows in italics to distinguish it from the beginning of the appointments.
12/17/99 Changed the operation of the Apply Change to Gift Certificate button on the Customer Payment screen.  Now, you enter the amount of the Gift Certificate at the time that you check the Apply Change to Gift Certificate button, and the system automatically totals the bill for you.
12/17/99 Added Salon Use and Quick Inventory as options in the Custom Password section under Maintenance, Employee Maintenance, Passwords.
12/17/99 Due to possible duplication of Inventory Codes, we have changed the method that the system uses to modify inventory items.  This is an internal change only, and does not affect the way you use the program. 
12/17/99 Fixed the problem found on 12/15/99 with the Customer Profile, Technical Card and Future Appointments buttons when entering a new customer.  This feature is now turned back on.
12/17/99 Fixed a problem that caused the Apply Change to Gift Certificate button on the Customer Payment screen to not always register the gift certificate.
12/16/99 Updated the Employee Maintenance when adding an employee the system will automatically remove any double ,, entered.  The double comma was entered when the name was entered with multiple spaces or a space and a comma.
12/16/99 Incomplete Address was updated to show the information recorded allowing you to evaluate the address stored in the system. The system was showing an incomplete address when the address had been entered this has been corrected.
12/16/99 Updated the Add Standing Appointment to show the appointment book correctly after a standing appointment was entered.  The system showed the appointment book blank after a standing was added and it could only be shown normal after hitting View Select.
12/15/99 Customer Display screen removed the Customer Profile, Technical Card and Future Appointments buttons when entering a new customer. These buttons will be added back in the future, but they were not working correctly for a new customer and have been removed for now.
12/15/99 Corrected the add new customer section to not allow double comma's to be entered into the name. When a name was typed with a comma and a space or two spaces the system was changing them to two commas. The system automatically removes the commas for all new customers being entered.
12/14/99 Fixed the Employee Modify/Delete when Custom passwords were utilized the system would not show the previous settings requiring all of the information to be re-done each time. Modify Employee Password worked correctly. 
12/13/99 Updated the Appointment Find to allow multiple appointments to be found without starting from the beginning each time. Clicking the Find Another allows you to type another customers name in to search for their scheduled appointments.
12/10/99 Added several related reports to the Mailing section regarding Customer Sales.  Top Customers may be listed by their Service Year-to-Date (YTD), Service Life Totals, Retail YTD and Retail Life totals. You may also print labels for each type of Customer Report.
12/09/99 Expanded the Inventory Categories, Classifications and Suppliers to allow a maximum of 199 versus 60. The added categories will allow spa/salons or gift boutiques to better track their inventory. Please note: If the Salon Manager - DOS program is used, only the sixty categories, classifications and suppliers are available.
12/09/99 Added new feature to Corrections allowing Paid In/Outs to be corrected within the same day without requiring two transactions to be entered. The new feature allows you to change the dollar amount of the Paid In/Out transaction or the category can be changed. This feature only works for the current day corrections.
12/08/99 Added new feature to the Appointment section of the Maintenance to customized Work tickets. You can now set the work ticket to include or not to include Service History, Service Prices, Retail Information and the Retail employee receiving credit.
12/08/99 Added the Paid In/Out to the Correction screen allowing those transactions to be modified easily.
12/08/99 Fixed the Search Daily Sheet to allow corrections to be made from that screen. It had inadvertently been turned off.
12/07/99 Added explanation to the Mailing when selecting by a particular service  the system now displays a helpful hint before explaining the exclude service screen. The idea is to select a customer that had a H/C, but never a color and allow the system to print out labels for those people.
12/07/99 Fixed an error in the System Agent, the Skin Technical card was not being indexed which would result in slower access to the Skin Technical information.
12/02/99 Corrected the Appointment Reserved words such as No,Appt, Sched,Off to not duplicate in the list when an No,Appt is cancelled or booked.
12/02/99 Added a new feature to the Extra section in the Appointment Book.  By choosing Schedule Maintenance, the system blocks off time from holidays for the entire salon or multiple employees without booking each day individually. The system allows for a comment to be saved with the appointment. Any appointments that already exist within the time period will remain to allow you to reschedule those appointments.
12/02/99 Added new option to allow the inventory ordering method to be by Category instead of Supplier. This allows the order to be broken down for the new Mega suppliers that handle many product lines. This option is set under Inventory, Define Labels and Ordering Style.
12/02/99 Updated the Detailed Daily Sheet to included the person's name that checked the customer out and the retail information showing the employee receiving credit, the product name, code number and price.
12/01/99 Updated the system to allow posting from the Payroll Manager (Federal, State, City Taxes) to Quicken for Windows, Quicken 2000 and Microsoft Money.
12/01/99 Changed Booking Reason in the Appointment Edit screen to say Requested Emp. to match the detailed appointment screen.
11/30/99 Added new feature to Detailed Daily Sheet to include retail purchases showing the inventory description, code number, employee receiving credit and the dollar amount charged.
11/30/99 Added two warnings to the Fix Time Card section.  When there is a time card error on the day being displayed, the system now shows which times have the errors in red.  Also, when a Starting Time is put in that is later than the Ending Time, a warning message comes up, and explains the proper entry of times, and also clarifies the procedure for entering a lunch, if the Time Card Reason was Lunch. 
11/30/99 Added a button to the Utilities menu to install Internet Explorer (IE) version 5.0.  This install should only be performed if you receive an error message related to shdocvw.dll.  This error means that the version of Windows and IE is not current enough to utilize some new features in the SpaSalon Manager, such as the ability to view all of the changes made to the SpaSalon Manager.  The IE 5.0 installation upgrades Windows to support these new features. 
11/29/99 Fixed the Existing Customer Retention on the non-detailed Employee Retention Report.  This report worked fine when ran at the correct time (90 days after the ending date), but gave incorrect information when run over 90 days after the ending date.
11/29/99 Added a new report to the List Daily Sheets section. The Salon Detailed Daily report gives a breakdown by day of the salon sales, including individual service and retail items purchased.
11/24/99 Corrected Employee Daily Totals from the Close Day the system was showing an DAO error and the report was not accessible from the Close Day screen.
11/23/99 Added the ability to exclude customers with certain services from mailing lists.  When clicking on the services box in Mailing Reports, you now get to choose services twice.  The first time selects the services that the customers must have to be included in the report.  The second time selects services that will cause the customer to be left off the mailing report.  For example, if I choose All Services on the first screen, and a 60 minute massage on the second screen, I would get a list of all customers that have not had a 60 minute massage.
11/19/99 Corrected error in the all of the Technical Card the system would allow you to type more information than could be recorded. Now the system stops and beeps to show when the maximum amount of information is entered on the line.
11/19/99 Add new feature for all technical cards. The system will NOT save blank technical cards. This was confusing many customers when a blank technical card was saved they thought the information was lost, instead of pressing the Next button. In reality, there was no reason to allow the blank technical card to be saved originally, since it is obviously done in error. 
11/19/99 Added new feature to the Cancel Appointment. If the service cancelled required a room the system automatically cancels the appointment under the employee and the room.
11/15/99 Made changes to the Inventory Sales Report to allow each item to take up only one line, instead of two.
11/10/99 Made the printing of past retail sales on work tickets and optional setting.  To turn this feature off, create the file \salon\noret0.wtk, or call IBCS for assistance.
11/08/99 Added the ability to print out customer pictures from the Check In and Haircut Tech Card screens.  This requires the use of a digital camera in conjunction with the Spa/Salon Manager program.  
11/08/99 Added an option for Canadian customers.  The half dollar slot on the Close Day screen can be changed to a two dollar slot.  Call IBCS to set up this option.
11/08/99 Added an option to Appointment Maintenance to control the operation of the Page Up and Page Down keys in the appointment book.  Choosing Yes to Page Up/Down Switch Days will make the Page Up and Page Down keys go forward and backward days at a time.  Choosing No will make these keys scroll up and down through the times on the Appointment Book. 
11/04/99 Enhanced the booking of a new customer to allow booked customers to have their advertisement reason updated when they are checked in. The system did not allow the Advertisement method to be updated.
11/04/99 Fixed the Inventory Alternate Bar Code Label when Performing an Order the labels did not print with a bar code.
11/03/99 Added new feature to the Customer Profile to allow all of a customer's history to be displayed. By default, the system shows the last twenty service visits for speed, but if the customer has been a long term customer the remaining services history information can be shown by clicking on the Show All History button. 
11/03/99 Added Retail History to the Work Tickets.  They now show the last 10 services and 5 retail items.
11/02/99 Added a button to the Utility menu to allow the LogAppt.zip backup file to be restored from within the SpaSalon Manager.
11/02/99 Added a new button to the Change Service Price screen to allow services to be chosen easier on a touch screen. The Show Services button displays all of the services and continues after selecting the desired service.
11/01/99 Fixed the Payroll Calculation to skip by employee's that are not longer employed.
10/28/99 Added in protection to avoid the system agent running on network terminals.  This code will insure that the system agent never runs on any computer except for the host.  If a dedicated host is being used, please call IBCS to insure proper network setup.
10/28/99 Fixed another strange error in the appointment book. If the appointment book was showing appointments and a Fast Retail was sold the system blanked out the Appointments until either the View Select or the appointment book was cancelled and restarted.
10/28/99 Fixed a strange error in the appointment book the system would book an appointment with a blank name. This error occurred extremely rare, because the following conditions had to be met. First the appointment being booked was for a new customer. Second the final screen of putting in the appointment the customer would give the referred by information, which was added before the appointment was saved under customer address. Then the referred customer screen was displayed cancelled is selected without putting a name.  Presto, you now have a blank appointment scheduled that could not be removed.
10/27/99 Added new feature to automatically close Ms-Dos type windows when Indexing or the Dos version of Salon Manager is used under Windows. Previously the X in the right hand corner of the window had to be clicked to clear the window.
10/27/99 Added a new welcome screen for new customers with support hours and phone numbers.
10/25/99 Added a General Retail item with a code of 999 to the system with all new installations.  This will allow new customers to practice entering retail sales without first learning to add in new retail items.
10/22/99 Added new feature to automatically display program changes when an update is performed.  By Clicking the Enhancement section the program changes can be viewed and printed. The enhancements are shown on each terminal to allow all staff members to see the program changes.  Program enhancements may also be viewed by clicking the Enhancements/Training button on the main screen.
10/22/99 Fixed the Inventory Order Report the system was showing the inventory name twice on the report.
10/22/99 Updated the System Agent to ask before performing the System Agent during normal working hours. The System Agent gives the option to skip the System Agent and will not activate again until the next day.  When system Agent is skipped it shows on the Main Screen in Spa/Salon Manager.
10/21/99 Added information to explain the Print Product Labels function. The Print Product Labels is designed to print a single label, for example, thirty times.  When you click on the Specific Retail Code the system informs you that to print multiple codes on a single page to use the Print Order/Labels from the Inventory Order Menu.
10/16/99 Added new feature to the Mailing section in Reports.  The system can now mail to anyone who has purchased a Gift Certificate.  This will allow for promotions or reminders to customers that purchased Gift Certificates in the past.
10/16/99 Added new feature to allow receipts to be reprinted.  A receipt can be reprinted from Correction, select the employee and click the Reprint Receipt button.
10/14/99 Added new feature to the Purchase Gift Certificate - it now records to the purchaser, information that they have purchased a Gift Certificate. Future enhancements will allow you to produce a mailing based upon clients who have purchased them.
10/14/99 Updated the Modify Inventory to retain searched information. For example, if you choose Sort by Code Number,  when you are done modifying the item, the code numbers are still in the box and the system does not force you to reselect and wait each time.
10/13/99 Added in a Display Properties section to Utilities, which allows the changing of Screen Resolutions and provides access to the Display and Themes Control Panel items.
10/13/99 Added the ability to change system time and date to the Utility screen.
10/12/99 Made sure that the cancel button always shows on the Inventory Order screen.
10/12/99 For new installations, when selecting the services to be entered, their names can be changed at that time.
10/12/99 Allowed users to change the Referral Name at any time. This automatically increments the entered customer name’s referral count, if they are on the mailing list.
10/12/99 Added a Next Item button to the inventory screen. If you have exited out of inventory, this button will bring up all of the fields that you normally save during the Add Inventory process as you move from item to item.
10/12/99 Fixed a mysterious problem that happened when adding retail items. The system would not recognize the item after a price change that was cancelled.
10/11/99 Added the ability to double click on the date to allow date selection on the List Daily Sheet screen.
10/11/99 Fixed the Customer Name screen. During the Check In process, when the screen showed the names of the customers due in, it skipped the last customer booked.  This rarely affected the customers, but showing a demo of the program, if you booked two customers in a row to show how the Check In worked only one of the names would show.
10/11/99 Moved the calendar, (..), on the Date Range Report to the left side so it would fit on lower screen resolutions.
10/11/99 Added new enhancement to the program. If the system gets stuck in the System Agent, restarting the computer will clear the problem and allow the customer back into the system.
10/08/99 Added a new report to the List Daily Sheet’s section. The Employee Detailed Daily report gives a breakdown by day of the selected employees’ sales, including individual service and retail items purchased.
10/07/99 Fixed the Make it Fit button in the appointment book to show the services being booked. When an appointment is made to fit, the system shows the names of and services of other appointments in that area to make sure that the Make it Fit is okay for this situation.
10/06/99 Added Test button to the Computer Information screen to allow the settings for a cash drawer to be verified without going in and out of the Maintenance section several times.
10/06/99 Changed the status indicator to the mailing program to show the status of the total number of records. For example, 1 of 2500 to show the number which the system is counting to.
10/06/99 Added the ability to ‘Hold’ a sale to the program. On the Customer Payment screen, there is now a Hold Ticket button. This option is turned on under Company Maintenance. Clicking this button saves all the services and retail items, along with the designers and prices. When that customer checks out again later, a message box informs the user that items from a previous Hold Ticket will be included on the sale, and then automatically puts those services and retail items in, along with the prices and designers from the Hold Ticket.
10/06/99 Updated the Copy Booking Style function to also copy the valid services and days from the employee being copied from.
10/04/99 Updated the Gross Payroll for overtime calculations to allow for bi-weekly, semi-monthly or monthly pay periods.
10/04/99 Changed the appointment book when using the arrow to go back a week, the system automatically sets the arrow to the forward direction.
10/04/99 Added new feature to allow the appointment book screen to be operated by keyboard control. Pressing 1-8 jumps weeks ahead, Y or Home to today’s date, N to the next day, and many more. The letters are shown underlined on the appointment screen that allows you to use the keyboard commands.
10/01/99 Allowed taxable/non-taxable flag in retail. On the Customer Payment screen now, there is a Taxable Retail Total that only shows if the Taxable total is different from the Retail Total.
09/28/99 Eradicated the Invalid Table Number bug with Reports after running several reports.
09/28/99 Added a Check Register to the Close Day Summary.  To use this report use Company Maintenance and checkmark Print Check Register with Close Summary.
09/24/99 Added Cyan as a color to the appointment book to represent Request Appointments. This color is overwritten by Green if the customer has been confirmed, unless the appointment is on the current day.
09/22/99 Fixed the Customer Check In when working with rooms the system does not show the room as a customer to be checked in.
09/21/99 Fixed the Appointment Working Hours report. It was showing Sunday as the first day on the report instead of Monday.
09/20/99 Added a Customer Sales Report to the Mailing Reports menu. This report gives a list of clients, with their Service and Retail totals for the year, and for life.
09/17/99 Added a password option to restrict access in the appointment book to that employee’s column only.
09/17/99 Added a feature that forces the system to ask for an employee to receive credit after each retail item is sold. Contact IBCS to enable this setting.
09/16/99 Fixed the bar code labels in Spa/Salon Manager. They were coming up with a blank page, instead of the labels.
09/13/99 Fixed a sporadic problem where new intercom messages would not show up.
09/13/99 Allowed customers to pay off IOU’s with their change at the Customer Payment screen.
09/13/99 Added a Define Labels and Ordering Style button to the Inventory screen. This allows the users to choose the type of product labels the system will use and allows a choice between posting inventory orders when ordered or when received.
09/10/99 Added a Category Maintenance button to the Inventory screen. This will allow users to Modify/Delete Inventory Categories, Classifications, and Suppliers.
08/27/99 Added the ability to Remove All Matching Iou’s, Gift Certificates, or NSF Checks from a certain customer. This feature is only available for the Owner, Office Manager, Receptionist 1, or Custom Passwords.
08/26/99 Added the ability to take a client picture to the haircut tech card.  This allows an multiple pictures of the client to be stored.
08/25/99 Allowed the reuse of employee numbers, and the conversion and storage of employee data in Maintenance.
08/23/99 Made Search to look only after the current time when searching the current day.
08/23/99 Updated the Add Retail when asking to whom to give credit the receptionist were not included in the list, now they are included.
08/17/99 Updated the System Agent to make backups for each day of the week. BackMon, BackTue, BackWed, BackThu, BackFri, BackSat, and BackSun to enusre that backups exist.
08/13/99 Fixed the Correction Void to remove the retail item from the Customer Profile.
08/11/99 Updated the Company Maintenance to warn customers of incorrect tax figures being typed in. The Service and Retail Tax rates of 5 ¼" should be entered as 5.25 not .0525.
08/02/99 Added feature to the Customer Check Out to allow the Customer Name to be Double Clicked instead of clicking followed by clicking the Continue button. Designed to speed up the processing for customers using a mouse.
08/02/99 Added feature to allow you to change the employee getting credit and the price for retail items on the add inventory screen, instead of having to hit Continue to get back to the Customer Payment screen.
08/01/99 Added Option to the Fast Retail to allow it to be turned on and off on a terminal by terminal basis. The option is under the Maintenance, Company which allows front desk computers to have the option while booking room computers don’t require the clutter.
07/30/99 Added a new feature to the Main Menu. By choosing Fast Retail, you will be automatically taken to the Customer Payment screen, and the customer name "RETAIL" will be entered for you. Automatically bypass Customer Address prompt for RETAIL sales.
07/30/99 Added a new feature to Customer Check Out. Whenever running through a retail sale (no services entered), the system will ask you which employee to credit with the sale.
07/29/99 Added new feature to the Employee and Service selection screens. With a mouse the user can select a single service or employee by Double Clicking on the name and the system choose that name and continue automatically. This saves a step of clicking the service followed by the continue.
07/26/99 Added new report to the Manager Reports section. You can now print out the Employee Working Hours, and get a print out of the working hours for the week for whatever employees you choose. This can be printed out with all of the employee names on the same sheet, or on one sheet for each employee.
07/26/99 Fixed a problem with Appointment Comments moving from one customer to another. This occurred when Edit Info was used to put in a comment for a customer. The next customer booked would receive the same comment. The system now works properly.
07/23/99 Added new message to the main screen of Spa/Salon Manager letting the customer know when the last System Agent was run on their system. Normally this will appear with black letters, unless the System Agent has not been properly run for two days and then a warning message and the writing will appear in yellow.
07/22/99 Fixed the Appointment Confirming to show a blank screen and hourglass pointer when the Confirming information is being calculated.
07/20/99 Updated the Close Day procedure to not warn of duplicate customers for the following names… Retail, Retail,Purchase, Doe,Jane, Doe,John, WalkIn, and Walk,In, since they are used for retail only purchases.
07/20/99 Updated the system to check for error 75 from a workstation. If an error 75 occurs the connection to the server has been broken. We now let the user know that the terminal must be remapped or restarted.
07/15/99 Added new feature to system to safeguard for multiple terminal users. When a terminal is in Close Day it will not inform everyone on the network to avoid locking the system. The terminal name performing the Close Day is displayed.
07/14/99 Corrected the Appointment Booking Style when attempting to book a customer past 11:45 PM at night and the appointment would finish past 12:00 AM an error occurred.
07/11/99 Added new feature to show when a customer has been checked in after they have been checked out. This has caused much confusion with the name showing in yellow, though the customer had been checked in. Now the name shows in Magenta (Purple), to signify that the name needs to be removed from the Check Out list or that the customer needs checked out a second time.
06/30/99 Fixed the Customer Checkout with Inventory codes numbers over 32768 the system was not recording the Inventory item correctly to the daily sheet. This problem caused the Daily Summary to not match the Daily Sheet retail total.
06/11/99 Added the company letterhead to the top of the find appointment report.  This option is selected under Company Maintenance.
06/08/99 Added a new report choice, "Restore Last Referral Counts", that allows referral counts that were reset in error to be restored. This will only restore the last referral report ran, though, so it should always be done immediately after recognizing the problem.
06/08/99 Added a new feature to mailing. Now, when printing out a mailing report (or labels), a gift certificate credit can be given to each customer on the specific mailing list being printed. Also, if the referral count report or referral label report is printed, this credit will be based on the number of referrals.
05/19/99 Changed operation of the Future Appointments. When booking an appointment the system shows the next five future appointments and when checking out a customer the system shows the next three future appointments. Additionally, reserved words such as No,Appt no longer show the future information during booking or check out as this slows the process and has no valuable information. Future appointment information can be turned off.  Contact an IBCS representative to set this feature.
05/12/99 Changed the Final Order report. The report showed the Quantity on Hand as the new quantity not the actual quantity that was on the shelf. The report now shows the actual quantity on hand when the order was placed, instead of the new quantity on hand. This makes this report compatible to our Dos version.
05/12/99 Fixed the Inventory Order when the quantity on hand was a negative number the system added the order quantity to the quantity on hand resulting in a lower number showing for the quantity on hand. For example, if the quantity on hand was a –5 and 10 were ordered the system showed only 5 in the final order and the quantity on hand. It as been corrected to show 10 items. This should not happen if inventory is properly maintained as you can not sell negative retail, you must have it to sell it.
04/23/99 Added the ability to print the packages booked for a day. To access this feature, click Statistics in the lower right corner of the Appointment Book, then click Packages toward the upper right, then click Print.
04/21/99 Added a new feature to the Customer Payment screen. The system now shows the balance due to help you figure out how much is left on the bill when someone pays with more than one transaction type (Cash and Check for example).

02/07/99  Added a new feature, Employee Retention to the Spa/Salon Manager. This report shows your salon’s new customers and tracks if they have returned to your salon within a given time. The system automatically suggests a tracking time period four months from the current date. This allows ample time for a customer to return to your salon/spa. This report details the customer’s name, their first and most recent visit date, and shows if the customer is considered "lost", meaning they have not returned to the salon. This type of report provides means for technician evaluation. Promote the value of exceptional staff.

  • Under 50% and the expense of getting new customers ie, advertising monies, becomes very noticeable. Expansion and growth of a salon or spa is dependent on new client returning. The Detailed Designer Report also analyzes existing client retention; however, the performance rating is different.

From this report analyzing your staff becomes an issue of having returning customers. Checkmark the detail report to see the new customer names that were part of the retention report. Checkmark the Out of Town if you track people Out of Town or Model as a customer type. Do not use this feature unless you record people out of town, since this slows down the report speed considerably.

02/06/99 Updated the Color and Perm Technical cards to allow more space on the screen to avoid scrolling when typing of technical information. The Color Name and Color Types lines were made longer along with the Perm Type line.

02/04/99 Added a Clear button to the Inventory Order process. This allows smaller orders to be placed without forcing the user to remove all of the items from the suggested order by hand.
02/04/99 Added support for several different digital cameras to work with the Take Picture button on the Customer Display/Check In screen. This will allow each customer to have their picture on the screen every time they are Checked In.  Cameras that are compatible are listed below, only the first camera has been tested,  others are supposed to work.
02/04/99 Added support for a ‘Family Checkout’ to the program. If this option is turned on under Company Maintenance, more than one customer can be selected at the Checkout screen. If more than one customer is picked, you can then pick who you want to have pay for all of the people being Checked Out. Then, for each of the customer in the group being checked out, hit the Save button without putting in their payment. This will allow you to check people out without telling the computer how they paid. The computer will then make sure that someone else is paying, and go on to the next customer in the group, until the last customer comes up. A new box, "Previous Customers Totals", will have the total bill from the rest of the family, and the last person will then pay their own bill in addition to the rest of their family.
01/28/99 Updated system controls to handle Year 2000 issues. Crescent controls, a software component used in the Spa/Salon Manager, released new code to allow dates to be entered in the format 01/01/00. Before this change the system did not change the date at all since the information was interpreted as 01/01/1900 and now it returns the correct value of 01/01/2000. The system worked correctly as long as the date was typed in as 01/01/2000.
01/27/99 Added new feature to the Appointment Save screen to allow the timing to be changed with a mouse or touch screen. Clicking on the +/- button displays the amount of time along with an up and down arrow. Clicking on the arrow increases or decreases the booking time by 15 minutes.
01/26/99 Added Salon,Card as a choice to the Price Change screen. This allows you to now click the View Select button, and select Salon,Card, the business, to receive credit for services and retail.
01/22/99 Added more security to the system. For employees who’s passwords should not have access to the printer, we have taken the print button away from the top of all reports.
01/13/99 Created new report to aid larger salons and day spas. The report is the Appointment Greeting Schedule which lists the appointments for the day by time order showing each customer arriving at 9:00 AM and so fourth. The report shows the service the customer is receiving and the employee performing those services. To use this new report it is under the Appointment Book, Extra and Greeting Schedule.
